The SGMG is a medical society. It represents the specialization of the umbrella and professional organizations (FMH and FAMH). It is responsible for the further education and training of specialists in medical genetics and specialists in laboratory medicine and medical genetics. It supports its members in their highly qualified clinical and laboratory services for patients and families and is committed to interdisciplinary collaboration. It also promotes teaching, science and research in genetic and genomic medicine.
